He wins football games and the team wouldn't be nearly as good without him.

He's in his FIRST year of a complicated offensive scheme and would have had an over 80 QB rating had Tampa Bay not absolutely raped him in a December game this year.

Hell, how long did it take McNabb to master the WCO?

no - his defense and special teams win games, then he ices them with ONE run on 3rd-and-4 and every idiot here wants to start carving his hall of fame bust.

So it's special because they're black?
I guess Rush was right. Race is important to the sporting press.

Hmmm. Vick never did it against a defence the caliber of the Eagles. Vick also did it in a dome (yes I remember he did it against a weak GB team) and not in the cold.

... we've kind of stepped over the negative stepping stone of people saying that an African-American quarterback can't lead his team to a Super Bowl...if that was supposed to be a slap at Limbaugh, it was misdirected - Limbaugh never said that no black QB would ever get to the Superbowl, only that McNabb was over-rated by the press because they were heck-bent to see black QB's succeed - but for two bizarre plays last Sunday, when Moss headed to the bench instead of sneaking to the sideline for a fake field-goal attempt which migh have provided the Vikings another TD and when a vicious tackle threw the ball right into the hands of Freddy Mitchell watching the play in the endzone for a TD, McNabb would be holding forth from his living room rather than the Eagles interview room - we'll see how he does this Sunday.....

I thought civil rights were about being treated equally? If that's the case, why should he think this game so special because he and Vick are black? They should just be QB's.

Good point. And besides, to be "technical", a "black quarterback" is going to be in the Super Bowl by default, not for any special effort on either team's part. It's a shame that we have to still deal with this Bravo Sierra in the year 2005, where people care more about the color of one's skin, vs. the content of their character--or their ability.

It did not take any prompting for Donovan McNabb yesterday to mention an aspect of Sunday's NFC Championship game that makes him swell with pride. Tucked within the Eagles-Falcons matchup is a meeting of two African-American quarterbacks, McNabb and Michael Vick.

And it gives me great pride that two white quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger, will be starting in the AFC Championship game.

You have forgotten the 12 man penalty the Vikes avoided when he left the field.

You have forgotten the 12 man penalty the Vikes avoided when he left the field...this is true - Moss apparently wasn't the only one involved in the busted play, but his look of sheepish chagrin on the bench afterwards sure made it seem that he was a prime mover in the snafu......
