I did hear her say she thought the speech was "over the top" and that she found it "grating." Alan said he doesn't understand how the president thinks he can bring peace to the entire world in four short years, and surprisingly, to me anyway, Peggy seemed to indicate that that was what she didn't like about the speech, she felt the president was overreaching.
I was surprised because I expected Peggy to sigh and tell Alan the obvious, that the president doesn't expect to bring democracy and freedom to the entire world in four years, but he certainly intends to get a good start.
I listened to Peggy Noonan today and caught her with H&C. I believe when she made that "grating" comment, she was referring to the end of his speech .. where he was saying "the greatest achievements .." or whatever were coming.
