I am a Christian.

I know a "Christian" guy who attends church regularly and cheated on his wife.

I know a "Christian" guy who cheats on this taxes.

Fact is, being Christian does not make you perfect.

I can accept the argument that McVeigh was not a Christian because the fruit born of that tree was poison. I accept that there are people who claim to be Christian but are not.

Then again, I can accept that there are people who claim to be muslim but are not.

I am not apologizing for the Koran, I think it is teaching people the wrong thing. I think it was constructed as a counter to the Bible. I think it is "man made" as opposed to being the word of God.

But I also think that GW has few options. He can embrace those who claim (and ACT) to be peaceful muslims, or he can line them all up and shoot them dead. I think the latter is not feasible.

Why must all threads discussing muslims be reduced to this absurd pair of options?

There is at least one alternative: criticize them, explain why they are being criticized; suggest they deal with the real problems that the current practice of the religion worldwide creates, and then wait to see what happens.

Suggesting that islam today is the equivalent of Judaism and Christianity is a gross abuse of the notion of tolerance, even for the most terminally "politically correct".
