I'm convinced that the two great pillars of freedom are capitalism and democracy.

Add to those two Faith in Christ -- Atheism and Humanism and Muslimism and communism are not freinds to freedom. There has been a lot of things happening on the atheism and humanist front in europe autralia and canada and the US over last decade.
Environmentalists, hate legislation with its focus of establishing gay rights, and the liberals handing national sovereignty to foreigners and foreign governments -- establishing these people with super rights over regular citizens.

No one is more peaceful than someone with something to lose. No one is more violent than that person defending what he has. That, is freedom.

I'm convinced that the two great pillars of freedom are capitalism and democracy. Democracy can't exist without capitalism (i.e. free exchange.) Capitalism, in the narrow economic sense, can exist quite well without democracy. (See China)
Capitalism is not to be worshiped. It is to be understood and applied. It is a necessary ingrediant for democracy, but it is not sufficient of and by itself to create or maintain a democracy.
