Very thought provoking piece

Will is an American, something unique for the media. He has an American's perspective of government and the people, as opposed to that of the far-left socialists and their lap-dog, the MSM.
This is a good write-up. Things that any American who wants to keep American's individual liberties FREE, and keep the country free of a corrupt and self-serving government, should be aware of, and always on the watch.

His toughness on this issue is undoubtedly influenced by his opposition to this particular legislation.

It is an interesting article. But your blurb completely misrepresents what it is about.

His toughness on this issue is undoubtedly influenced by his opposition to this particular legislation His toughness is based on his oppsition to Big Government whether it is under a Pubbie or Rat, and that is good.

It tough to determine whether the excerpt represents anything at all.

The piece brings up one of my favorite themes: we should abolish the Department of Education.

"But conservatives should be less aggressive than Democrats in using taxpayers' money to try to mold taxpayers' minds."Yeah ... right George ... and you should be baseball commissioner.

I think information management is critical for a nation as it is an element of war. To protect our nation's security, information must be managed in such a way as to enhance that security WITHIN limitations that allow ready access to to true facts for all our citizens.
Abu Ghraib is a case-in-point. Would it have been better for our nation to have better managed the release of the photographs considering their propaganda value.
To withhold them would be to engage in propaganda on our part. To release them could mean the injury/death of some of our troops in the field.
Where do we draw the line regarding information and security? I'd say we must draw it at the point where real national interests are jeopardized. (And that doesn't mean when political party interests are jeopardized.)

Ah yes, Quiet Cal...
Word is that a lady walked up to him once, introduced herself, said she'd told her friends she was headed to meet him, and they bet her that she couldn't get three words out of him.
His response..."You lose."

I agree. Perhaps some of the trial lawyers out there will find a new target by suing the reporters/networks for wrongful deaths directly linked to their ill-timed scoops and inflammatory presentations...

That is a fascinating idea. Families suing the media for the release of info that caused the death of troops.
The media equivalent of shouting fire in a crowded theater.

Indeed, and a "two-fer" at that since the culpable media is so far left ideologically and have supported the trial lawyers wrt tort reform. I wonder how they would feel to be facing the point instead of the handle of the legal weapon?

"When conservatives break with their principles, they seem to become casual about breaking the law, too. "
Best line in the article.
