2.THANKS! i really have no dog in the reservation fight, as we Cherokees don't have one. however, ending the reservation system is likely a good thing.

some years ago, Wayne Newton offered to give the "startup money" for a "strip shopping center" to the Sioux Youth Fund, with the idea that they could "get on their feet" by running the various businesses therein.
the BIA sent Newton a letter telling him that Indians COULD NOT LEARN to run a shopping center & that he "should not waste his money". (i have seen a copy of the letter.)
can you imagine what the media would have said if that were said about ANY other racial/ethnic group????

the Indian Trust Fund is simply GONE! (one presumes it was stolen, as it is EMPTY!)
even at my age, i'd opt OUT of social security, if they'd just give me the money i've had "withheld" back. PRIVITZATION is the REAL DEAL. (ask the employees of Galveston County, TX how they like THEIR non-SS system!)
