Maybe the Bushes are a good example to us of what we CAN be as a family vs. the Clintons who were an example to so many of what they ARE. Aspiring to be better, rather than rationalizing what is.....

You got it, hardworking. So many, when realizing that they are not able to "measure up", try to change the markings on the "ruler". What folly.

It is so much better to keep trying for the ideal, even though we can't reach it. So many do not realize that there is no shame in failing, so they try to lower the bar so they do not have to feel inferior. They also ridicule those of us who try, and rejoice in our failings, and gloat about these.

This is why I admire the Bush family, and all of you among us who are their equals, but unknown, uncelebrated by the media. The Bushes have been "selected" by the fates to represent the rest of us to the "world", and it isn't a burden I would want.

It is a crummy job, and I am grateful that they are willing to suffer the slings and arrows in our stead, so we can work on, struggling against the "dark" without that horrible media spotlight.

We owe them thanks for taking the crap from the "evil" in our midst, so we can struggle on against the foe. So, thank you, Bush family, for being willing to be "out there". It takes a lot of guts, and we are grateful.

I am also grateful for all of the families in the United States who give of themselves for the common good. I think of the wives of the Secret Service agents. They say good-bye every morning, never knowing if that will be the last good-bye. These wonderful women raise their children not knowing from one week to the next if their husbands will have to take a bullet on our behalves. Our young men are damaged and crippled daily to uphold our values, and their futures are forever changed on our behalf.

The only way we can repay this debt to them is to respect the ideal, and not let up because we fail to achieve it in our own lives, and to keep on trying.

In His name, I ask for Your protection on the Bush family, and all the families in our United States who are serving. You all know who you are, and you all need to know that we cherish you, as much as we cherish the Bush family, for you are all equal in His eye.

Enough... I am getting "verklempt"... but I know fellow Freepers will understand my emotion.
