Some very good friends of mine at my condo were part of the Texas volunteers that went to Ohio at their own expense and worked their butts off to help W carry the state.

They got invited to the inaugural and this Texas affair because of their hard work in Ohio.

God Bless you Jim and Mary Lou. Kick up your heels and have a grand time. You deserve it.

What is up with this? I never had responses like this. Usually I get a hearty LOL not hostility.

A gripe?

Lighten up, for goodness sakes!

I don't give a flip if you don't like the dresses! But just because you don't approve, doesn't mean Laura has bad taste. Or no fashion sense.

Oh Barbra Streisand! I have an excellent memory and you used the same stupid (what you imagine to be clever/cute..."cranky pants") put down,in your first post to me on this thread, back then.It was out of the blue, just as this one was. Timid? YOU? Nope.

And I am not claiming "victim-hood" at all, newbie. You just keep imagining things. LOL

I am just surprised they don't look like the ones in the drawing. Now that I got a second look, they're an awful color.

How about you follow your own advice...since you need it and I don't!

And I don't care if you agree with me or not.L>aura has gotten a wee bit better, but the woman has not only not much fashion sense, she has NO idea what looks good on her or not. That takes nothing away from the fact that she's pretty,is a great First Lady, and obviously in love with and very good for President Bush.

Skunks for some reason tend to show up at garden parties...or in this case at a Texas barbecue.

Don't let 'em ruin it though...enjoy! :-)

Not the most flattering pose for the Veep--look at the way Laura and Jenna are looking at him. This should be a Caption this photo.

Hmmm, this was an interesting line to start with though:

"The dress may be appropriate,in that it covers her and is a ball gown, but the fabric is not only hideous, but out of style and a terrible color. The drawings of the dress Laura will wear tomorrow, don't bode well for your supposition of "elegance"."

Sounds like a direct invitation for trouble. And you later went on to say they dress terribly.

Oh well, I don't care. I like the Bushes well enough to overlook their clothing style even if I disliked it.

You ladies need to lighten up.

We wouldn't want to live up to some lame catty stereotype, would we?
