I absolutely disagree with you. Laura's dress design is really stunning and she looks drop dead gorgeous in it.

but they are all pretty women.

And that's enough for me :) They could wear burlap sacks and still make them sexy.

True, the Ross Volunteers will add class - when did he mention A&M?

You're right, Miss Marple .. as a fabriholic, what I've seen of silk dupioni, it is irridescent .. kind of like aurora borealis crystals that change colors and appearance, depending on how the light reflects off them. It's a gorgeous color and fabric, IMHO.

Yes,dear......YOU.

Well, Lah-di-dah.

Course I'm not the one spouting off designers names.

I'm also not the one that's ticked off many people here tonight.

Ta-Ta

It looks like it has a stripe. I'll bet it's prettier in person and I think it fits her perfectly!

My mother had a blouse similar to the style of fabric of Laura's dress. Depending on which direction and intensity of the light, the blouse would change colors. It looked blue, but also changed to shades of purples and greens.

I've met them too and nobody is denying that they are a good looking family...all across the board. But If Hilary wore the same clothes that Laura does, the same people, here, who are saying how wonderful they are, would be hurling insults at them.

I just give a critique of the clothes;not the person.

And thank GOD that President Bush won re-election! :-)

I don't post pictures of myself on line.I am NOT trying to "show off" at all. I wear designer clothes...some of us here do.

I'm allowed to have an opinion, just like everyone else and that's NOT being a "downer".

You have posted several hostile posts, NOT me. I have tried to interject a little humor to ease your aggression.

I may be "new" to FR, but I'll wager I'm older than you and a tad bit less aggressive. Chill Out

Lots of people, outside of N.Y. wear black gowns to a black tie affair. :-)

Yes, I think so. Head and Adrian were two of THE most fabulous clothes designers, for the movies, that ever there was.

Thank goodness George W. Bush is president, but those dresses are a fashion disaster. Wizard of Oz sales rack at the dress barn?

I don't think that Laura is a clothes horse, she doesn't pay much attention to fashion, nor what she wears. But yes,Laura doesn't have good taste/fashion sense. Most First Ladies didn't/don't.

That is NOT "snobbery",nor am I being "rude";unlike you,dear.:-)

Judging from the fashion critics on this thread, maybe they should have gone with the latest thing.

You might be right on the fit but as far as the style, it's perfect to be worn with boots. Even the women are supposed to wear boots to the ball (Senator Hutchison has a new pair made each time). It's hard to tell on the color because the lighting would make such a difference.
