"NOT ONE DAMN DIME DAY

Since our leaders don't have the moral courage to speak out against the war in Iraq, Inauguration Day, Thursday, January 20th, 2005 is "Not One Damn Dime Day" in America.

On "Not One Damn Dime Day" those who oppose what is happening in our name in Iraq can speak up with a 24-hour national boycott of all forms of consumer spending.

During "Not One Damn Dime Day" please don't spend money, and don't use your credit card. Not one damn dime for gasoline. Not one damn dime for necessities or for impulse purchases. Nor toll/cab/bus or train ride money exchanges. Not one damn dime for anything for 24 hours.

On "Not One Damn Dime Day," please boycott Walmart, KMart and Target. Please don't go to the mall or the local convenience store. Please don't buy any fast food (or any groceries at all for that matter).

For 24 hours, please do what you can to shut the retail economy down. The object is simple. Remind the people in power that the war in Iraq is immoral and illegal; that they are responsible for starting it and that it is their responsibility to stop it."

This is an anonymous letter that has been circulating the net and been posted on many left wing websites (the idea has been attributed to Bill Moyers). I just thought I'd pass the info along to my fellow Freepers. The left hopes to strike a blow to the U.S. economy with a 24 hour boycott beginning midnight tonight, and I think it would be great if we do everything we can to counter this.

So Freepers, if you've been saving up for a new TV, or any big purchase, or if you just need an oil change or a fresh tank of gas, try to buy it tomorrow. Get out there and support American businesses on inauguration day, and help cancel out this pathetic leftist attempt to hurt our economy.

Of course of Dems will be all over the internet saying they brought the US economy to a halt

Kind of like those "Million March" events they seem to love that attract well over 7500 people, and are then referred to for years as if they really were a million or more strong?

Here is a list of the some the "reddest" companies, found on the "buy blue" website.

You have to be careful, however. They list companies who gave to neither party as "dark blue" when they should be "white". Example: Fry's (where I like to shop). I'm perfectly okay with companies who give to neither side..I prefer political contributions be grass roots, from individuals only.

If they want to claim the moral high ground they should take the money that they would have spent and put it into their favorite charity. They could send to carumba here at freep.

Oh sure...Michael Moore won't make it...with cheese oozing out
of the corners of his mouth as he pounds down his daily supply of greasy burgers...He will spend much more than a dime....but he will be with you all in sympathy for your cause...BURB!

Just think of all the hired help the Hollyweird elites will have to turn away.

Ya figure that Babs knows how to work a microwave? Can she survive without a human footstool?

Well, it's inauguration day. I just met my dad for breakfast at Perkin's restaurant, stopped and put $50 on my Thorton's gas card, bought a few snacks in the gas station, then stopped at Kroger for some OJ and milk (we were almost out).

I've stimulated the economy around $62.00 so far today. I'm gonna shoot for $100 by midnight ;)
