"Why are we being told this?" Because any fear or other distraction that could possibly detract from the celebration of President Bush's second inauguration is a good thing. In the minds of many.

Why are we being told this? Most everything no matter how ridiculous will be told. Prospecitive CYA, a lesson of 9/11 for bureaucrats.
Even if true I'm not too worried. I bought lots of duct tape two years ago per Homeland Security advisory.

Because the "guest worker program" (a.k.a. amnesty for illegal aliens) is next on the list of legistlative initiatives. They'll argue that the program will eliminate illegals, which it won't.

The only thing i can think of is that some reporter got wind of this somehow so the Feds had to tell them something
how accurate it is who knows but the fact that the officials around Boston are running around says that something is making them nervous
