"But we think maybe Thune, like the majority of South Dakota voters in his district, just couldn't wait to see Daschle go."
America thanks South Dakota!

"South Dakota Republican Senator-elect John Thune will be easy to find in his home district."
I don't think he is Senator-elect any more.

With the victor, come the spoils. (or something like that)
Great way for Thune to reinforce Daschle's demise!
To: kattracks
One point of satisfaction for Thune: His mentor and personal hero, former Republican U.S. Sen. Jim Abdnor from South Dakota, who lost a re-election bid to Daschle in 1986, was in Thune's headquarters the evening of Nov. 2 to witness Daschle's demise. He also got his start in politics because of Abdnor, as one of his aids. Glad I'm not the only one who got the sweet irony of Thune beating Dashle in light of the fact that Dashle beat Abdnor.
To: bilhosty
Correct, but he probably was when the article was written.

Sharing office space in a sense is an irony because during a hard-fought political campaign, Thune and Daschle shared very little, especially in terms of politics. It would be ironic if they were in fact sharing office space, but they are not. So I'm not sure what the point of that sentence is.

I hope Thune checks it for bugs.

Thune Kicks Daschle Out of Office, LiterallyFor it to be literal, doesn't actual boot have to meet actual butt? I read the article and don't recall seeing anything like that.
Titles like this should not so cruelly raise hopes.

Since his defeat we haven't seen Little Tommy out here on the South Dakota tundra. Maybe we'll have to put his picture on milk cartons.
I suppose he is living in his wife's mansion just outside the beltway and spending his time with the liberal elites and Hollywood lefties rather than out here in flyover country.

It would be ironic if they were in fact sharing office space, but they are not. So I'm not sure what the point of that sentence is.
Its ironic because theyre not sharing office space even though Newsmax said it was ironic that they did.
This is all post-Alannis, where everything is sort of ironic, dont ya think?

I agree........darn........after reading the title I actually had thoughts of Thune taking Daschle by the scruff of the neck and throwing him out..........oh well.....i guess not. Back to visions of sugar plums dancing in my head

This is all post-Alannis, where everything is sort of ironic, dont ya think? Yeah, but what is really ironic is most of Alannis's examples of irony were not in fact irony. No that's ironic.
