I don't get it. The roofline and tail all had some styling cues carried down the line....but the front end looks like a Cavalier. Shame on Cadillac!

THIS is a limo styling cue.

That's the 71 or 72, isn't it? I remember those when I lived in New York. They were really handsome. I've got a '92 Sedan de Ville.

Ooops. I think you're right. I took another look and spotted the round headlights inside the rectangular frame. My bad.

I was going to just post the story, but after seeing your pictures, I decided my readers deserved a trip down memory lane back to when cars were real steel.

So, I have linked back here.

Thanks,

Jake

My oldest daughter's first car was a 1973 Cadi Calais. As big as a battleship, to her, this behemoth four-door , no post, 2-block-long, 6-real-passenger, 472 CI V-8 powered, 4900 lb. "Hardtop Sedan", which was sure to get her where she was going, in style. Her friends loved it as much as she, but made fun of the "rust brown". It kept her off the road, much of the time, because of the cost of fuel. Daddy only gave her so much to spend! But, when she wanted, she flew over the hills and dales around Clarke County, VA.

Now she has a Jeep, with a ragtop, and wishes to find another old Cadi... She also has a three yr old...

Hers was an ugly brown, but too good to need paint. this is style... But, I'd rather have my Towncar... made by FORD's Lincoln Division!
