A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos)- 1.18.05

President and Laura Bush attended “Saluting Those Who Serve” today, honoring members of our Armed Forces at an event that helped kick off his second Inauguration, in which, contrary to media reports, he is celebrating the clear mandate he received from the American people on November 2nd. His father and mother, former President George H. W. Bush, and former First Lady, Barbara Bush also attended the event, where President Bush 41 recounted his World War II experiences.

President Bush is working on his Inaugural Address which concentrates on the themes of freedom abroad, and an ownership society at home.

Also today (all day), Condoleezza Rice appeared at her Senate confirmation hearing before the committee that will confirm her as Secretary of State. ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island, and the Daily Dose!!

Ha! Not likely.

C-SPAN becomes more disappointing by the day, it seems. Living out here in the Pacific time zone, I rarely get to see presidential events live. So I used to count on C-SPAN, because they were pretty good at replaying them in the evening Pacific time. But they've basically become all Left/Dem, all the time.

I ;listened to the Senate hearing on the confirmation of Condi Rice for Sec. of State and I conclude that the Senate is a worthless bunch of ego maniacs

There may be more out there that I'll post as I find, but for now I think THAT'S ALL!

Can't argue with that. When the senator (don't know his name) held up the book "The United States of Europe", I cut it off. I have better things to do than listen to that mess. God bless Condi!

The senate was ever thus. They seem to take the notion that the senate was patterned after the British House of Lords all too seriously.

Wait until I look around again, OK?

I think there are more out there that I haven't retrieved yet.

Thanks!

"They seem to take the notion that the senate was patterned after the British House of Lords all too seriously."

They had better learn that they don't have lifetime appointments. You'd think the Daschle lesson might be a little more clear to some of these lunkheads!

OK. Not sure it belongs on the Dose anyway. I'm just thinking this is the 2nd time in around a week or so that there has been an incident where the cops had to stop a van close to the WH.

It's a case of "it won't happen to me." After all, they have examples such as Ted Kennedy, Robert Byrd, Strom Thurmond, and others who have stayed in the senate for 40+ years.

Kelsey Grammer seems to be a solid Bush supporter--good for him. Proves that not all Hollywood is crazy.
