Receptionist Charged with Performing Illegal Abortion |

New Jersey Right to Life
Abuse Highlights Need for Parental Involvement Laws January 18, 2005 Todays news reports a receptionist in Lakewood , NJ was charged with injecting abortion-inducing drugs at a Lakewood , NJ abortion clinic. The receptionist had performed at least 4 abortions at the office of Dr. Flavius Thompson and pocketed $500 per procedure. This investigation exposes some of the many abuses that occur daily inside the so-called safe and legal abortion industry. This has always been an industry driven by greed which exploits women and puts their lives at risk, while deceptively marketing itself as champions of womens rights, said Marie Tasy, Executive Director of New Jersey Right to Life. New Jersey s laws are very lax when in comes to abortion. It has become the great untouchable of law and politics. New Jersey abortion clinics are not even required to report abortions, said Tasy. Parents of minors need to be on guard that their minor daughter can get an abortion anywhere in New Jersey without their knowledge or consent. The lack of protective laws increases their risk of encountering unscrupulous abortion providers and staff which has been so pervasive throughout the industry, said Tasy. Tasy called on state legislative leaders and lawmakers to pass a Parental Notification Constitutional Amendment without delay. In September of 2003, Holly Patterson, an 18 year old California teen died from an RU-486 abortion. The death is the third in two years to occur from RU-486. According to the Coroners reports, Holly died from septic shock caused by endomyometritis, an inflammation of the uterus. The report said that endomyometritis was caused by a drug-induced abortion. Endomyometritris is an infection of the womb and septic shock is an often fatal collapse of blood pressure caused by infection. According to Holly's Dad, she hadn't aborted all of the fetus, and she had fragments left in her, and she had a massive infection, and went into septic shock," Mr. Patterson told the San Francisco Chronicle. He said he only learned of his daughter's pregnancy hours before she died. Tasy said that although the girl in this situation was 18, from another state and legally an adult, this tragedy could just as easily befall a minor in New Jersey . Citing a report from the Washington Times, Tasy said that two earlier deaths from RU 486 prompted the FDA to issue warning letters to physicians. IIt is bad enough that R.U. 486 is not safe and is being administered to teens in NJ without parental supervision, now we hear the disturbing news that it is being administered by abortion clinic receptionists who are pocketing the money. If that isnt reason to sound the alarms, I dont know what is, " said Tasy. New Jersey has the highest teen abortion rate in the nation according to recent statistics. "It is incumbent on the NJ Legislature to protect our children and take immediate action to pass the parental notification constitutional amendment to ensure that parents are involved in the abortion decisions of their minor children." She said the time is long overdue to pass the parental notification constitutional amendment and allow the democratic process to move forward. "Parental Notification needs to be decided by the people of New Jersey instead of groups who have a financial self-interest in performing abortions on minors without parental knowledge," said Tasy. #### |

Thanks, great article.
Only after their minor daughter has gotten pregnant, presumably also without their knowledge or consent.
Gee, aren't these the same Libs who scream bloody murder, and want to ban & criminalize everything in sight if one kid is shot by a gun?
Does this say anything what their REAL agenda is?
You can be sure of the highest professional standards when dealing with mass-murderering liberals.
My bad. Obviously she's been charged...but I seriously doubt anything will happen to her other than a slap on the wrist. Judges are sorely afraid of the pro-abortion lobby and their army of attorneys.

This is just bizarre, if true. We have to report the number of dogs we have if we want to stay on the voting list in our town.
