"Whom ever posted the Title seems to be implying the real Dr. Laura is a fraud."

No, it is clear that this Dr. Laura is the government's own. Only by misreading the headline can one reach the conclusion that this title is implying that the more famous Dr. Laura is a fraud.

So, you think that all white men in government service are competent?

A phony Phd, as opposed to a real one awarded by let's say Berkely? Some of the highest academic degrees are held by some of the worst people. Other than a medical degree, engineering, chemistry or other basicly unchanging "hard science" with real consequences, I don't value any of them any more than I would "Joe's University, PO box 21a, DelRio Texas". I know too many real idiots with advanced degrees in sociology, phylosophy, and other "idea" subjects. How about the fellows that have reinterpretted the simple language of the United States Constitution?

Stupidity.

The folks who hired that woman actually thought they were getting the real item. Too bad they were too stupid to make a cursory review.

Note that the people who were responsible for picking her were Republican appointees!

Some of the problem is in the White House. Notice that Casey got appointed to the USPS Board of Governors. First time I saw the man he'd just taken over as Postmaster General and demanded that we rewrite negative rulings we'd given several of his periodicals. He used his authority to profit personally. The White House researchers and fact checkers seem to be suffering from terminal stupidity.

Doesn't surprise me in the least.

This is your government. This is your government run by bureaucrats.

I have an MBA (from a university that is now fully accredited, but was provisionally accredited at the time I attended) and am teaching managerial economics to MBA students. I would prefer teaching I.T. courses, after 31 years at IBM as a hardware and software service tech and a systems engineer, plus 8 years I.T. consulting and a client list that many would envy. However, my ACADEMIC I.T. credentials consist of a Master's in Telecommunication and Information Systems Management, and that is not enough to qualify where I teach.

Anyone completing a real PhD must have some serious scholarly published research. It should have been relatively easy to verify that "Dr. Luara" had no record of such published research with little more than a literature search at a local library.

I can claim to have legitimate academic credentials. The question naturally arises: why can't government employees?
Oh, they can claim them, they just don't all deserve them.

I read the article because of the "Dr. Laura" connection
. . . and then you wonder why they put that in the title? Too early in the morning for you or sumpin?

Great Post! Now, it would be just as informative to know the truth of how the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. obtained his "doctorate." See the recent article "MLK Day, 2005" by Nicholas Stix.

Not hardly. Anyone from Chicago can tell you of the horrors of patronage. How else do you think the RAT party remains in power here?

There are very few cases like this within the fedgov.

It was never made clear in this article if this fraud was fired or not.

Interesting that your complete lack of knowledge in this area doesn't prevent you from demonstrating it.

And her Secret Service husband too.
He had to know she was perpetrating a fraud, and that's no different than a cop with a dope dealing wife.

This stuff goes on forever. Doesn't matter if the fella in the WH has a D or R by his name, the fundamental lunacy behind the government doesn't change.
