She's done. Lugar notes the committee had asked her to make a comprehensive statement and she certainly fulfilled this request.

Lugar states folios of questions have been submitted to Dr. Rice already and she has already written answers. Remarkable answers, Lugar notes, and he hints he hopes that questions now are not duplicative.

States 10 minute rule in effect. He's spoken with Dr. Rice and she's prepared for a number of hours. They'll go until noon and reconvene at 2:00 and hopefully will be done by early evening.

Even by Senate standards, the Foreign Relations Committee contains an unusually high percentage of pompous blowhards. They all fancy themselves important, Presidential-timbred movers and shakers on the World stage. They will have all recently spoken with their "good friends" in foreign capitals who have privately expressed "serious misgivings", "grave concerns" and "increasing lack of confidence" about some Administration foreign policy or another.

I give credit to you Play by Players today. This is gonna be grueling work.
