I would never increase the number of reps--to justify their existence they would pass more laws. We need to reduce not expand their number.

It would be far more difficult, to my thinking, for a representative to logroll when a much larger number of voters are needed to pass that pork through. Far more trading would have to be involved. The smaller the number of legislators, the easier the logrolling (see Byrd, Robert).

But we don't disagree as to the problem of pork. Just tactics regarding how we solve it.
