CHRISTIANS & MUSLIMS BRAWL
New York Post ^ | 1/18/04 | ERIN CALABRESE, JEANE MacINTOSH and LEONARD GREENE

An emotional holy war broke out yesterday on the streets of Jersey City, where Muslims and Christians clashed and lobbed insults at the funeral for a devout family of Egyptian immigrants who may have been slain for their religious beliefs.

While mourners inside the St. George & St. Shenouda Coptic Orthodox Church prayed for peace in the wake of a murder that escalated religious tensions at home and abroad, fights erupted amid the crowd that spilled outside the church, where angry Coptic Christians pointed accusing fingers at their Muslim counterparts.

Officials said the religious persecution theory is still under investigation, but said some evidence points to robbery as a motive.

Members of the city's Coptic community — many of whom left Egypt like Armanious to escape religious threats — believe there is a connection between their faith and the murders.

A reward of $100,000 is being offered by Coptic leaders for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.

"It doesn't appear to be random," said Assistant Hudson County Prosecutor Guy Gregory. "It appears to be a specific act. Someone was able to gain access without forcing entry."

Investigators learned that a relative of the victims had helped prosecutors in their case against Lynne Stewart, the lawyer charged with passing messages to followers of her client, blind Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, a convicted terrorist ringleader.

But sources close to the case said there is no connection between the relative and the murders.

Now they are pushing the "robbery" angle? WHAT the (WTF) is this? It's CLEAR AS A BLUE SKY DAY what the motive is. Kick some @ss Jersey Christians, and AMERICAN PEOPLE!!! Enough of this PC pussy footing around the religion of peace? cult of blood. It is what all their Mullah's, Imam's, Sheikh's, and Cleric's say it is; They hate the infidel, CHristian, Jew, Hindu, Buddhist, or fagot pagans; They scream their plan to destroy our ways and kill us from the roofs and minarets of their mosks; about how Allah and his cult is the only way this world should run, and how muslims are ordained to complete this task of "conversion. THEY ARE NOT KIDDING. What does it take to make people understand this? how many more genocides, bombings, etc?

I am sure the Muslims came to the funeral as a juster of respect. Unfortunately, that respect was not returned. I am a Christian, and in this case of the brawling after the funeral I blame the Christians.

The family had asked that the anti-Muslims signs be removed, they obviously, didn't want their loved-ones funeral marked by fighting. There is a time and place for placing blame, and a funeral is not the place.

I too am prone to blame the Muslim community for not holding back their hot-heads. We, the Christian community, must hold back our hot-heads also.

Just curious, what makes you "sure" of this? And, assuming they did arrive as a jester of respect, are you also "sure" they remained respectful during the service? Personally, I feel when a muslim kills a Christian in a ritualistic Koran-style execution, the respectful thing for other muslims to do would be to stay away from the funeral and allow the family to begin the healing process.

Get a hold of yourself. It's terrible but it's isolated.

"... in the wake of a murder .."

A murder,,,,,,,,? Four murders is what Fox News Reported.

Modern journalists can't count any better than they write.

I have to respectfully disagree with you. Keyword is muslim. If news accounts from around the world havent shown you what the civilized world is up against by now I'm afraid the appeasement attitude will prevail. In the islamanzi world those that do not follow this cult have 2 choices..convert or die. I choose to take a stand, expose them for what they are and fight back at all means available. NO APOLOGIES!

"Officials said the religious persecution theory is still under investigation, but said some evidence points to robbery as a motive."

Religious persecution?? Geez.. Einstein, what was your first clue? The slit throats of every person in the household, including the kids?? The death threats by Muslims against these Arab Christians?

Robbery evidence? What, did the murdering sons-of-Satan-Muslim's lift a wallet on the way out?

"I too am prone to blame the Muslim community for not holding back their hot-heads. We, the Christian community, must hold back our hot-heads also."

I am a Christian also. However, I am not genetically or spiritually programmed for ritualistic suicide, which is what will happen when you apply the modern, morally relativistic "mainstream" Christian thought to the real world, where the bad guys kill you, your wife, your kids, without remorse. Or, worse, take your wife and daughter as concubines, and your sons as slaves.

That's the REALITY of Islam, in it's "pure", unadulterated form. This isn't a ranting, raving right wing lunatic saying this, but a student of history, current events, and world religions. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but few, very few, will lift a finger, much less utter a word of condemnation to the substantial minority of Muslims who are Jaahadists.

No, I choose NOT to submit to Islam, or their Satanic "moon god" Allah. I choose to state facts plainly, and fight evil.

You cannot ascribe evil to the victims, and the victims morners, and possess any sense of objective notion of "right" and "wrong". The funeral of the Coptic family is THEIR's. It does not belong to the Muslims, nor their murdering brothers.

"Christianity was introduced to Egypt in a limited form early in the faith's history. The Coptic Orthodox Church is based on the teachings of Saint Mark who traveled to Egypt in 61 A.D. The name Copt comes from the early Greek name for Egypt, Aigyptos. The Coptic Church has given the world St. Cyril, the philosopher Origen, and began the monastic tradition in Christianity. While the Coptic Church has flourished and spread around the world, it does maintain its own Papal Leadership separate from that of Rome and is often categorized as one of the Eastern Orthodox faiths."

It's Isolated? Get real. This isn't the first Jihad murder in the USA, it's just the more obvious one.

Open your eyes and look around the world as well.
Here's an example. A jornalist said, "those women are beautiful, Mohammad would probably take one for a wife"

The result? over 220 Christians were murdered, simply because a pedophile prophet was "insulted" in their sick, twisted minds.

In reality, if the journalist was truthfull, she would have said, "those women are beautiful, Muhammad would have killed their husbands and families, and taken them all as slaves and raped them.

Amen. At the time of the Arab invasion, practically everybody in Egypt was a Christian. Because they practiced a slightly different brand (Monophysism) than the Byzantine Empire who ruled Egypt at the time, they put up little resistance to the Muslim Arabs in AD 639-641.

This was largely because the Muslims promised tolerance of the Coptic religion, no prosecution, etc. They were the religion of peace who respected other "people of the Book". (Sounding familiar yet?)

Needless to say, after awhile the Christian Copts of Egypt became scarcely better than slaves to the Muslims.
