WASHINGTON - Three of President Bush's prececessors will join him on the platform Thursday as he is sworn into a second term. Former President Carter, his wife, Rosalynn; former President Clinton and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y; and Bush's parents, former President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush will attend, officials of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies said Monday. Former President Ford, who is 91 and no longer travels extensively, does not plan to attend.
The presence of former presidents at inaugurations is a tradition aimed at showing the continuity, the officials noted.

I wonder if Carter will keep his mouth shut about Bush when they interview him. The guy is a classless pig.

John Kerry will be the shovel.

Kerry? C'mon please! He's not a former President, so he won't get the privilege of being a witness. ;-)

I wish he could, and would attend.
He took on a tough and thankless job, at a most difficult time in our history. Did it well, under those circumstances.
He deserves our respect.

At least three ex-presidents aren't swearing AT the current President.

The guy is a classless pig.He flaps those ugly lips of his when a former president and man of his age should know better. He really is disgusting.

I sure hope George Bush Senior has a strong stomach...Well we all saw what he is capable of a few years back in Japan--I'd like to see a replay of that all over Carter.

If you examine his recent trip to Iraq and Europe, you'd think he was the President. Why Bush hasn't brought him up on Treason charges is beyond me.
Incidentally, has anyone noticed that there have been no photo ops of Kerry with the troops in Iraq? I wonder why?

Too bad former President Ford couldn't attend. He was absent last time as well, due to terrible weather.
I'll say a little prayer for Rhenquist too.

Haven't heard much from former President Ford lately, but for a while everytime he opened his mouth I was reminded why I voted for Ronald Reagan in the 1976 GOP primary.
