In the early 70s, I put together an employee outing to see Virginia in "No, No, Nanette." Over 200 co-workers went. Afterwards, I got to go backstage to meet her. She was very tired - the show was physically grueling - but she was very friendly. And, even at about 50, very attractive.
I was going to say, she looked wonderful. A night for you to cherish forever. Thanx for sharing it.
These days, they'll fight it for as long as they can with the money they have. I think Jamie Lee Curtis started a one-woman campaign to simply acknowledge: age happens.

I love that movie. One of my favorites from that era. Also a big Susan Hayward fan, loved "My Foolish Heart" and BTW, also in my early 40s
My favorite all-time scene from any movie is when Fredric March comes home and his son lets him in the apartment and his daughter sees him, he shushes them both and starts for the kitchen where Myrna Loy is finishing the dishes and before he gets there, she senses who it is.
I tear-up just thinking about it.
It's definitely a great movie all the way around.

More interesting is the words, "3-D" while most youthful males were hoping to see DD in 3D.
But he should have sent the son off to military school....
She's a little closer than everybody.
And then her parents go on to tell her about all the times during their own marriage when they "hated" each other!!! And Millie is pretty understanding when Al, drunk, tells her she's a "bewitching little creature" who "reminds me of my wife." She just plays along... now there's understanding for you.
"Best Years" is one of my all time favorite movies.
