Just so you know, if they lower the cost of the ink cartridges and the printer vendors stop getting their cut, they'll start selling their printers at a much higher price. Those high ink prices subsidize the low printer prices because the printer vendors hope to make their money back on ink and don't make a profit on the printer hardware. Remove that source of revenue and they'll jack up the cost of the printers.

Right on! Kodak did the same thing with cameras waaayy back. They gave them away so they could sell the more lucrative film product.
