XM Radio Ping list! FR-mail me to get added to or removed from this ping list.
Sirius Satellite Radio ping. XM is for liberals!!!
Ditto, I used to have XM, then I found out just how good Sirius is. No comparision.
I have both, you poor child.
Why do you say that?
Thanks!
Why do you say that?
Interested to hear your opinions in more than 1 sentance. Thanks!
I agree I have 4 sirius subs.
I'd be interested to know the advantages of Siruis. I have XM but my fiance wants to either get XM or sirius..... any advice would be appreciated. We listen to talk radio exclusively, so sports is not really important. Thanks
How intelligent. XM is cheaper, and XM has FOX News. All I need.
I never was impressed with XM at all really. I started off with XM when it was first started since my brother had it like right off the bat and so I went under his account. The stations seemed to always be advertising something. The 20 on 20 and other pop or new music stations got annoying as hell so I could never listen to them for more than 10 minutes. I always found myself switching through channels trying to find something to listen to. Just something about their lineup and DJ's that irritated me. When my brother switched to Sirius and I got his web info to listen to it on my computer I was hooked. Just found Sirius to offer better channel selections and there seemed way less talk by the DJ's on some channels. However, I do wish that Sirius would use their DJ's only to lineup the songs since I don't like listening to them at all.
When driving from my current town to my old ones through the mountains I always seemed to have blackouts where I would not be able to get XM at all, but since switching to Sirius I have yet to encounter this. (I even get Sirius inside my garage when I pull my pickup in there!)
Do the 3 day web trial that XM and Sirius has and compare them for yourselves. I guess it just depends on the person to what they like between the two.
With the XM, never out of touch although at times a few days of silence from the world is nice.

ALso, I'm not sure if XM does this, but Sirius is also adding transponders to the larger cities with more skyscrappers to allow Sirius subscribers to be able to have access to Sirius. Something interesting to ponder. Also for people that live on the coast and own boats, I believe Sirius broadcasts 300 miles off shore which if I remeber right, XM doesn't do.
It looks like satellite radio (USA) will be competing for listeners with both DRM (EU) and the Internet (Worldwide). I'll be darned if I pay a monthly radio fee--cable and the Internet already cost a bundle. Also, I still listen in to good ol' low-tech shortwave on my Drake R8A.
There are indeed some blackouts in the mountains with XM, I notice this as I drive cross country. As for the DJ's, maybe it's just the stations we were respectively listening to, but if I had a gripe, it would be that some stations don't have DJ's at all. It would be a downer except for the artist/song display on the screen.
The only thing I have beef with XM about is that they don't have Little Steven's Underground Garage or a similar channel. The XMU "college format" station is kind of wussy.
With WHO 1040 AM (Jan Mickelson 9 AM to 11:30 and Rush 1 to 4 PM) and KXEL 1540 AM (Tony Snow 8 AM to 11 AM, Rush 11 AM to 2 PM and Hannity 2 PM to 5 PM), I can't imagine paying for conservative talk radio in Iowa. :-)
LOL Why is that?
