Newborn baby dies in toilet

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. - Police are investigating the death of an infant who was delivered in an apartment bathroom.
The case comes about two years after authorities investigated a similar case at the same apartment.
The incident began Sunday afternoon when police answered a 911 call from the mother of Vanessa Ballard, 39, who said her daughter was having a baby and needed help.
Police found the newborn in the toilet. Paramedics cut the umbilical cord and tried to revive the child but were not successful.
The woman delivered a baby the same way about two years ago at the apartment, police said. That baby was stillborn and the woman was not charged.
Authorities are awaiting the results of an autopsy in Sunday's death.
Oh well. Maybe third time will be the charm.
If women had access to legal abortions, this type of backalley procedure would stop!!!

Before y'all get too carried away, the report on the radio this morning said that the mother is mentally ill.
No way this should have happened twice but the outrage probably should be directed elsewhere.

I have heard of this happening before - the mother not knowing she was pregnant and not knowing what was going on when the baby was deliverd. Hard to believe some people are so uneducated.
I note form this story that the Grandmother who called the Police is only 39 herself, so then how old is the Mother?
She has a choice , ya know.

Yup...I thought so, too. Sitting or squatting positions are reportedly a more natural position for giving birth. I'm actually a bit suspicious of 'grandma' since there's evidence that she had the wherewithal to raise at least one child to post-puberty age, w/ the caveats that g'ma may have been unaware of what was happening in the bathroom, the baby may not have been full term, she might have just gotten home from being out or her short order was on the shy side, too.

They both need to be put in a mental hospital.
The daughter's mother is 39...the would-be grandmother.
The daughter did this twice, or were they saying Mom did this two years ago???
Either way, it's sick.
Assuming we are on the right line of thought here, one begins to wonder how this girl got pregnant..
What are these creatures doing in an apartment? Cattle and swine should be in a barn. Honest to God, these people are on the same level as animals except that higher animals are instinctually better mothers.
