Every poll I've seen shows strong support except among the elderly for such accounts. A Zogby poll cited by Gingrich in his new book, Winning the Future, found that 68 percent of Americans favor "changing the system" to allow for investment accounts

It must be the very elderly who dislike investment accounts. Anyone who was able to invest in IRA's or the like starting in the 80's knows how much better they are than the SS Ponzi scheme.

"the very elderly who dislike investment accounts"

There are still people who remember the market crash of 1929, and the bank holiday of 1933(?) when they couldn't retrieve their savings.

Probably a majority don't know about the pledge that their SS benefits will not change, thanks to the craven toadies of the MSM in collusion with their bosses at the DNC.

Mostly perhaps, they know their remaining years are few, they don't think they have a stake in all this, and they don't want to have to deal with it.
