Actually this was posted on FR a few days ago. Different name on the poster IIRC. Can't remember the date but it was about the middle of last week. Same story.
Well, he made these "points":
"I see similarities between the failures of this political group and the one in power under Nixon".
"Soldiers, most of whom are young and inexperienced are being sacrificed for undefinable military objectives."
"How do supporters of this administration also support the military?"
"I have heard that the owner of the site has a quirky view of freedom of speech."
To be honest Airborne, I have heard these "points" expressed many times by the left. They're called "talking points."
Every man who died in WWII from that point on was simply wasted.
It's clear that if they'd simply waited on the nukes they could have clear-cut both Deutschland and Japan at low cost.
The Iraq thing is simply not in the same league as WWII when it comes to numbers. On the other hand, Libya really was developing nukes and our invasion of Iraq clearly got Khadaffi to set that aside.
THAT is Dusty Rhodes.
I believe the brother discussed in this article was the brother of Dante Zappala, the author of the The Los Angeles Times commentary ... not the brother of poster "Dusty Rhodes".
At the risk of sounding old, I remember when a new poster had a chance to respond at least ONE TIME before being viscerated by the crowd.
All I saw, with few exceptions, was people attacking and posting their "troll pictures"
Don't get me wrong. I've done it myself, but I learned that it's not the way we should want to behave.
But, hey. You all go back to killing the troll. I'll just go somewhere else.
"Dusty Rhodes" said all he was gonna say at the beginning. These people post their challenge and then lurk to watch all the replies that go unanswered by them in vain. That's their game. Get their Op/Ed on FR and then split. Its a drive-by posting by cyber-punk-pinkos.
There have been a few, honest, lefty's, willing to debate the issues and receive and reply to posts on threads that they have started. This isn't one of them. No one claiming to be an "Infantry Company Commander" would post such drivel.
Vietnam ERA means you didnt serve IN-Country. Thanks to a plethora of Democratic politicians, we have come to learn what this means.
I guess we'll never know, will we?
Don't you wish he had an opportunity to respond?
That may all be true but, because he was zotted early, he can tell all his friends that no one would engage him. I, for one, would liked to have outted him further.
No we won't, and it's all "Dusty Rhodes" fault, not FR's.
One by one, respond to the points he made. I'll listen.
As a Vietnam-era Infantry company commander, I see similarities
between the failures of this political group and the one in power
under Nixon .....Bye, Dusty Rhodes.
He's dead, Jim!
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . .don't be shy.
LOL I wonder how fast he would run the 20
No.
I don't care what his friends think, they're no friends of mine.
I, for one, would liked to have outed him further.
He outed himself.
Posted and ran. Can't do that. Sometimes (often) I feel we're fighting a PC war that sacrifices our troops in place of the enemy, and spares islamists for humanitarian reasons when all that happens is that they get to terrorize the REAL innocents for longer.
I'll NEVER believe he had gotten rid of what he was known to have and wouldn't tell anyone.
