It is way too early for that statement to be true.

We live in a world of instant gratification where we want results now, not five years from now. The west (USA) has always had this mindset. Others who view the future, not as next week, nor even as next year, can see past the shortsightedness to see a world where we may be able to live w/o fear of being attacked.

The best way to reach that world is debatable, but it has been proved over the last 30 years that appeasement, relative to the mid east, will not work.

Just as it was right to free Kuwait 12 years ago, it was right to remove Saddam today.

Agree, Iraq and our own borders have turned into disasters.

Saddam was never a threat to the United States. We pay billions for our nuclear subs to roam the 7 seas. Push come to shove we could have taken him and his little family out with a small tactical nuke or even a more conventional weapon fired from a sub or anything else. From the air, we could have kept Iraq on a short leash indefinitely without risking one American. They would have eventually behaved themselves. Anything offensive or threatening could have been eliminated so easily, without any invasion.

My suggestion for Bush? Open Saddams cell door, put a bullet in his head, declare victory, and leave that POS country.

your definition of "true conservative" is up to debate. I certainly feel I am a "ture consevative" and I felt and still feel that the Iraq mission was mandatory.

This is a great success, not a 'disaster'.

Geez ... what the U.S. revolutionary war a 'disaster'?
Took more time and more lives than this effort will, for sure.

Didn't realize we were in the presence of such omnicience.

If you have a few spare minutes, can you please provide US policy makers with the definitive solution on how to handle Iran, which will likely have nuclear weapons within a year or so.

After that, if you have some spare time, please tell us what to do about North Korea, which has been providing rogue Muslim nations with missile technology and will likely begin exporting nuclear technology in about a year or so.

After that, can you please solve the Palestian-Israeli conflict.

And then there's that pesky rift between Pakistan and India, both of whom have nuclear weapons pointed at each other.

No dear, TRUE conservatives are smart enough to realize that we are killing the terrorists by the thousands. TRUE conservatives what their children to grow up in a world without terror. TRUE conservatives know that the only way you get a job done is by doing it yourself.

True conservatives supported the war because to effect true change in the middle east, we need to begin the process of changing regimes in the area. Once Iraq gets stable, it will serve as an example to other nations in the region and a country that others longing for freedom will use to support revolts in their own countries.
