More and More the police don't want citizens defending themselves, If this catches on they will be out of a job. The more crime there is the more police that is needed. If the public starts killing these perps we can also close some jails and lay off more personal.

"In the rear of 1505 Commonwealth Ave., police found a Sony hand camcorder, a black ski mask and a white skull cap. All were held as evidence."

Let's see. Hmmmm. Which religion of peace requires that their adherents wear "white skull caps?"

It's a union thing. More union dues.

Bigger government at every level.

box of Newport cigarettes
A "hint" as to the ethnicity of the robbers?

How about gender? More trivia, seriously I have noticed more women smoke Newport than men.

Roisten then claimed he disarmed the suspect with his left hand and shot the suspect with his right as the suspect fled out of the front door, police said.

He made a major mistake by admitting that he shot the bad guy “as the suspect fled out of the front door”.

How dare this man try to defend his family!

He shot the bad guy “as the suspect fled out of the front door” – not exactly self defense.

Now, if the felon were foolish enough to do this to a politican's home, the results would be far different; but the part that irritates me the most is that I can order a pizza and have it at my door in 30 minutes or less; the same can not be said for most police jurisdictions. And the pizza guy doesn't have lights, sirens and an over-sized engine with free gasoline.

Funny, but disgusting and alarming too.

We agree!. Am I still correct that it is individuals -- not firearms that are licensed in MA?

It is the individul. However, purchase and transfer records are kept at the Department of Public Safety. Recently, it probably works, (Computerized Instant Check at Gun stores...(The damned few remaining)) but ten years ago, it was allegedly a small room filled floor to ceiling with shoe boxes stuffed with "Green Cards".

So supposedly they know every piece of hardware a (legal) owner has. In this way, if a person ever has a restraining order against them, it's a "Christmas Shopping" orgy. The Sigs and 1911's would probably never be seen again, and the Brycos, Jennings, and Ravens would probably be returned someday. Maybe.

Speaking of the "...few remaining" dealers in MA... Do you know if Lew Horton's in Framingham is still in the gun business? Used to be a great place -- with some great guys working there.

Unless you are a family member, or CLOSE personal friend, you never enter a house unless invited in.

That brings back a memory.

Once in the rural Southwest I visited my neighbors, knocked on the door, and heard someone yell "Come on in!" I entered to find an empty house, except for yours truly...and said neighbors' talking parrot, who had been the one who had invited me in. I got out FAST, and am very glad I never had to explain that one to my neighbors or the police!

I think they are gone, but am not sure. Last I saw they were getting $800+ for old High Standards in good shape. They never were exactly a K-Mart.

I get everything at www.fsguns.com in Woburn...Four Seasons. I do a LOT of reloading. A lot. Even a Texan would be impressed. :-) (Progressive Lee Loader..a Brass Waterfall.)

And Massachusetts wonders why it's the only state in the nation that is shrinking in population.

I just got back to this thread and noted your advice about moving the body. I have read a number of places that it is definitely not a good idea to mess with the evidence. There are two good reasons: 1) it's a crime; and 2) nobody will be fooled: any decent crime investigator can tell if this has been done.

Well, that only makes me glad I live in a red state. In Georgia, you do not need a permit to have a gun in your home, and Georgia law was changed a few years ago to make your vehicle be considered an extension of your home under the law.
