Your post reminds me of my chance meeting on one of the typical DC tour buses with GWB's next door neighbor down Crawford, Texas way (on that very rainy pre Inaugural friday night in 2001)...
A particular grandmother, daughter and children were taking in the sites... after some small talk I asked if they planned on touring the White House... I relayed how we were going to get in line at the Park Service bldg. between 14th and 15th st., at 4am Sunday, in order to secure some tickets to the White House... the lady replied that she would wait until she got invited over to the Bush's in Crawford for a BBQ... that's when we got around to asking her about details...
her and her husband were worried whether they would still be able to hunt on their ground, being that the fella next door was who he was... once checked out by the secret service, it was no problem...
