Kerry, who lost the November election to President Bush, is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and his trip to Paris closes a European and Middle East tour that included trips to Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Israel and the West Bank.
He was set to meet with Chirac just hours after talks in London with British Prime Minister Tony Blair on the prospect of peace in the Middle East.
With the Jan. 30 Iraq elections on the horizon and the election of a new Palestinian leader, Mahmoud Abbas, still fresh, Kerry made his tour at a critical time.
He told reporters in London that the impending elections in Iraq were ``one marker'' on the road to democracy, but are not the ultimate goal.
``What is critical is for all of us to focus on what happens immediately after the elections,'' he said.
In a remark sure to please Chirac, who wants to see room for a French role, Kerry added: ``I believe there needs to be a larger political reconciliation, as well as a broader involvement of other countries in decision-making in order to build a greater stability in Iraq.''

He is running around the world pretending he is a mover/shaker. He didn't want to be in DC while the vote was certified, or his lib/dummie supporters would demand he take over the vote fraud issue...he knows it's a losing battle, you know it's a losing battle, yet the DUmmies are still beating the dead horse. Heck, I think they've exhumed the skeleton, propped it up, and CONTINUED to beat away. His lefty supporters would expect John Kerry to fight for the presidency that they think he won if he were in the US during the inaguaral celebration..so he is abroad pretending he has power. Ha!
And how come no pics of Jean Francois with Chiraq? Gee, wouldn't that make a great campaign commercial?
Is he acting as a representative of Gore's "exile government"? These self-important libs really crack me up.
The Feds should pull his passport. Let him stay in France!
Since I'm a NC resident I can only sit back, watch, and laugh at Kerry. If you're from Mass. you have my condolences.
There he goes again! Consorting with the enemy. This POS should be tried for treason!
ROFLMAO!! The circle is complete!
Just like the old days for JohnnyNam...Paris must bring back old memories of the round table chatter with the North Vietnamese.
Ooops, I was thinking EGO was an acronym. I'm like, what could that stand for? Extra-Governmental Organization? Elite Goof Off?
I thought it was your day to watch him.
I imagine the tax-payers are paying for the standard Senatorial "Fact-Finding" tour. He (terayza) probably has to pay for any "lifestyle upgrades" that a "statesman" of his stature would require.
I'd say that anyone from Mass bears some, maybe just a little, but some responsibility for not getting this assclown out of office before he could make the mockery of the system that he did. And , this probably isn't fair but, you Arkies have to take some of the blame for the sink emporer.
It should be very clear to everyone that the swift boat vets were telling the truth. This delusional fool is giving us an encore just in case there was any doubt.
He and that Frenchman holding peace talks was a ploy. They were using that as an excuse as they were both wearing knee pads.
"...Someone should remind him that he is NOT the president of the USA!!..."
In his mind he is. He and his party still think the election was stolen. I think he's preparing to run again in '08.
Bring it on! lol
Who does this JERK think he is?He has absolutely NO business discussing US Foreign Policy with Chirac or ANYONE else!!It shows you the unmitigated HATRED this A**HOLE has for our PRESIDENT!!!!!!
The Man Who Would Be King??
"...I hope for purely entertainment purposes that he does."
Now wouldn't that make for some great entertainment in an otherwise boring campaign season?
Kerry is checking on the current price of white flags.
