The day when smokers finally figure out that they can grow their own tobacco...just the same way they "might" grown marijuana in the loft of their house...this entire tax game will end. I've only met two individuals over the past 20 years that figured this out and grew their own smokes. If everyone would realize this...they could save themselves thousands of dollars over a lifetime...and even cut out the rich cigarette companies as well.

The funny thing is, growing your own tobacco is actually "MORE" illegal that growing marijuana! You're going to be violating more statutes and laws by growing tobacco! The federal government specifies exactly how much land registered tobacco farmers are allowed to plant.

I've got a cousin who used to work for the Dept of Agriculture (MO actually has alot of tobacco farms), and it's very tightly regulated. I brought this up once, and we had a very long discussion over it.

It's not like being able to brew your own beer for private consumption. Growing your own tobacco is an illegal activity!

Is that nationwide? I heard that you can grow it, but not sell it.
THAT would be a property rights case I'd love to see!

Sorry. Government has no authority to tell me what I can possess or ingest.

This whole 'legal' and 'illegal' bit is a sham.

Haven't you ever wondered why politician/ lawyers and illegal aliens get to operate under a different set of laws than us poor, ignorant, taxpaying Americans?

Take a look at the definitions from an online legal dictionary;
legal
adj., adv. according to law, not in violation of law or anything related to the law.

That seems to be pretty straightforward- now look at the legal definition of the opposed word, ‘illegal’-

illegal
1) adj. in violation of statute, regulation or ordinance, which may be criminal or merely not in conformity. Thus, an armed robbery is illegal, and so is an access road which is narrower than the county allows, but the violation is not criminal.

Well of course armed robbery is illegal; it’s a violation of the 8th Commandment. But if a narrow access road is illegal, how can it NOT be criminal?

Because any statute, regulation, ordinance or act that does anything OTHER than describe punishment for violations of Commandments 6 through 10 are not laws that affect the people! They are merely governmental policies, and only governmental entities must ‘conform’ to them!

(That’s how the government gets around the ‘Congress shall make no law’ part of the Constitution.)

Politician/lawyers KNOW this, so anytime they run afoul of the 'law', it's just a slap on the wrist because their peers know it as well.

Illegal aliens get away with it because of ignorance, and the fact they ARE undocumented...they have no 'legal entity' for the government to control.

Now, I realize how odd this must sound to some folks, but stop for a second to think about this-

The state statues define states, cities and towns as 'political subdivisions', which means they are artificial creations.

How exactly can we, as human beings, be born IN a state, when the only thing a state can create is another artificial entity?
