Its actually a federal felony...with federal investigators like the FBI...with federal prosecution...federal judges...and federal prisons...in that order of course. My guess is that GW really doesn't want this episode to continue on in open press. He got positive miliage out of this in the end. Mapes and the folks responsible are fired...which is positive. She will have a job within two weeks...probably with CNN...and life will go on. The only thing here that really changed is the use of bloggers to correct MSM. Life will never be the same.

Oh, I agree with you.

But as for the positive elements of this scandal, well, that may not be the case the next time.

This whole fiasco will probably result in more cunning ways to present falsehoods and forgeries.
What they, in their infinite wisdom call "nuanced," to us peasants.

As we know, they were pretty darn stupid about the whole thing.

They will learn lessons from that fiasco, but what they learn certainly won't be to be honest and truthful with the American people...

I think that someone at the federal level needs to push for some serious prison time.
