The greatness of human imagination, vision and planning should not be underestimated. Reaching for the stars like this is an excellent endeavour.

I went to use the NASA JPL simulator...

http://space.jpl.nasa.gov

and it seems like today is an exact alignment between the sun, our earth, and Saturn.

That's got to be more than a coinceidence?

Could getting signals back and forth to the spacecraft have been enhanced by the shadow earth casts on the spacecraft, i.e. blocking the spacecraft from seeing the sun and electrical noise from the sun?

Any techies out there?

Actually the Earth by comparison to the Sun is so small, it's shadow would be negligable from out there.

Will they be able to take a picture of the flag that the astronauts left there for Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee?

"God must love fools. He makes so many of them..."

Your inane post on a serious technical thread certainly verifies your tag line.

Is the surface frozen liquid, liquid or solid?

Yes.

I hope you are joking – otherwise you should know, you are a insufferable a$$; no offence.

Which one of these way-out moons is supposed to be full of water? All I remember is that one day, we're supposed to go there and drill through the ice about 60 miles and let a probe swim around and find little green Aqua Men.

Europa I think it is. That's the moon they suspect may possibly harbor life and the one hopefully we'll go to next.
