Member of Al Qaida Linked Group Caught on US-Mexico Border

A man from Bangladesh was arrested last month attempting to illegally cross into the United Stats from Mexico.

Fakhrul Islam was apprehended with 13 other undocumented migrants, including a member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang, as they sought to enter the United States by crossing the Rio Grande River near Brownsville, Texas on December 4, the newspaper La Jornada reported.

The arrest has raised new concerns among US security officials about the use of the Mexican border as a transit route for terrorists entering the United States.

Mr. Islam reportedly admitted to having crossed the river illegally, according to charges presented to Border Patrol agents in Brownsville.

Strange that the anti-Hispanic posters on FR don't seem to be concerned with any security measures except those that might also reduce the number of Mexican laborers coming across the southern border.

More Race Card waving by bayourod.

Does Vicente have an old video of W snorting coke in a Mexican whorehouse? [Disclaimer: I love Bush. I am so proud he is my President. I just don't understand his motivations here re the Mexican border, especially since it is a very important national security concern.]

Oh I wasn't thinking about it in that way. My suspicions lie more in dealings that are a little more illegal then that. I hate to say it because I really like Bush, but there is something really fishy going on here.

Before 9/11 there was little need to sneak in through Mexico, they could just apply for a student visa and come on in.

And now they can't?

Would you bet your mortgage on it?

The studies you are talking about were commissioned by organizations wantimng to show that immigration had a negative impact. Are you aware that CIS, FAIR, and NumbersUSA are part of a ZPG network?

Some studies were commissioned by lobby organizations seeking increased federal funding for their members?

I bet your car payments, insurance, fuel and gas have a negative impact on you, don't they. So why don't you get rid of your car? You don't because it also has benefits for you that are not as easily quantifiable. Cars are assets. Employees are assets. Your studies ignore the real contributions of immigrants.

Think! America is a nation of immigrants. Is America better or worse for it? That's the only study you need.

Well, alright then. Sounds like you're well on your way to "Little Mexico" status. Congratulations.

But look on the bright side. When you reach 60% (forecast for two weeks from today), I'm sure Houston will be annexed by "Vicente-the-Magnifico". Of course, when that happens, you can dash for the redrawn border, thus fulfilling your lifelong dream of actually becoming an illegal alien.

If you make it to southern California, I wouldn't expect much of a welcome.

"Are you aware that CIS, FAIR, and NumbersUSA are part of a ZPG network?"

I'm sure you can provide some credible documented evidence of your assertion. Lets have it.

I'll double search and do it.

I've been wondering something.

Tell me if you know what the process would be getting a "temporary worker" with the same rights as any citizen (so we're told by "experts" here) to ever leave especially when they've bought property. How did it ever happen that a "temporary legal resident" could buy property. If he over stays his visa, do we deport and do WHAT with his property? Or does he just get to renew the visa forever?

These people are not and do not want to be American citizens and they don't behave like American citizens. I have had business dealings with them and they are among the most arrogant people I've ever met. THEY are legal, and here to stay and don't mind telling you about it. They are also the same ones who help bring in the illegals and teach them to game the system.

Many years ago, when the guest workers came, and left every year, they were great guys. The first problem we saw was when they started getting hooked up with whitetrash welfare queens and learned the "tricks" of the system. They don't leave now, they buy houses and destroy neighborhood after neighborhood. I had some real estate dealings with one with a green card, who could not be turned away from purchase. I refused to do any others. After he bought the place, he demanded the realtor get his electricity/ utilities turned on because "THAT's your job!" He was yelling that in between cursing his badly bruised wife who couldn't speak a word of English, and he had no intention of letting her learn. 12 people lived in that 2 bedroom house.

I'm assuming they have the same property rights as we do. Anybody?

Growing successful new urban hospitals treat more illegals than rural ones. The difference is that the big hospitals also have the income from all the rich farmers who no longer want to use their little rural hospitals.

What reason for declining revenues do you expect the old small failing hospitals to give? Do you think they are going to admit that anyone who can afford it will choose a new modern urban hospital over them? DUH!

As far as I know anyone can buy property in the US, citizen or not, whether this makes it harder to have them removed for some reason I am not sure.

I know a few banks are starting to offer mortgage programs geared toward illegal aliens.

This is one issue I'll give to Bush detractors. Our border policy is a complete sham.

Funny thing is...that's pretty much my entire problem with him. Others would like you to think differently, and not pay attention to the silly racists.

Welcome to the dark side

>>We don't have "open borders", that's why people get caught.<<

I have no idea how many times I have explained this commom sense reasoning, but once again just for you.

America has Border Patrol Agents who do risk their lives protecting Americas borders.

The chain of events every night is the same. It is a simple 1 2 3 occurance.

1)The 1st 1000 illegals who come across get caught.

2)They are taken to the deportation centers by the arresting agents.

3)This means that the arresting agents are no longer at their duty stations - - - to apprehend the next 4000 who successfully come in every night of the week!

READ CAREFULLY, The fact that our federal government will not fund the Border Patrol to a point where the arresting agents can remain on station means that this is a planned occurance by the federal officials which allows the existance of an open border policy after the first 20% of illegal invaders have been arrested.

READ CAREFULLY, The federal government will not increase the size of the deportation centers, nor will they fund it so that the system will handle more illegal aliens every night.

READ CAREFULLY, It is the obvious intention of the federal bureaucrats to allow 80% of all illegal aliens who wish to enter these United States illegally to do so!

READ CAREFULLY, This means that we have an 80% Open Border Policy because we only have the personel and facilities to process the first 20%.

Some people such as yourself refuse to see the 80% Open Border Policy because you do not wish to, however that does not mean it does not exist. How do you think 20 MILLION people, men, women, teenagers and babies have successfully walked in to America.

During a immigration subcommittee hearing in March, Mr. Cannon had the gumption to question the executive director of CIS, Mark Krikorian, as well as to challenge Roy Beck, who heads NumbersUSA and serves as "spokesman" for CFAW. After first denying it, Mr. Krikorian was forced to admit that CIS is a spin-off of FAIR.

Cannon, a notorious enabler and enthusiast for illegal aliens, has about as much credibility on this issue as you or the Wall Street Journal. An organizational nit--so what.

In fact, CIS, FAIR, NumbersUSA, Project-USA and more than a half-dozen similar groups that Republicans have become disturbingly comfy with, were founded or funded (or both) by John Tanton, a retired doctor in Michigan.

And so, from this mere association, we are to conclude that the named organizations are deeply involved in some kind of nefarious ZPG cabal. I asked for "credible documented evidence", not naked allegations, unsupported and unproven by a periodical well known as a flack for illegal aliens.

"...disturbingly comfy with..."

My, what a damning accusation.

The fact this appeared in the Wall Street Journal, and that Cannon is quoted, impresses nobody--hearsay is not transformed into compelling proof immediately upon its appearance in the Wall Street Journal. And this is what you offer as credible documented evidence? I don't think so.

LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT, BAYOUROD!!

YOU SPEAK FOR *YOU*, NOT HOUSTON!

I live in a suburb of Houston, and I don't know ONE Houstonite who agrees with you!

Your ideas are as whacky as a turpentined cat, and they're not supported by ANY Texans I know!

You've got an agenda.
I have no idea what it is, and I don't care.
Just quite thinking that you're a mouthpiece for Houston or Texas!
