You are right and all of this is silly. However, the outcry was so predictable that Harry indeed must have rocks in his head to have worn the costume. Harry should issue a personal apology, say he was an insensitive blockhead, and let the matter go.

You see? That is what I don't understand... the veracity of your statement is not being questioned, because if he had dressed up as stalin or pol pot, no one would have blinked an eye. But that mindset is what I don't understand. Stalin and pol pot were murderous, totalitarian thugs! What is it about the ideals these guys espoused that is so appealing to liberals?? Maybe I'm just not screwed up enough to think that Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot were "revolutionaries" of their time, and see them for who they really were... murderous megalomaniacs.
