And it also seems a bit strange to me that you all want to talk about Rush's personal failings without really having an inkling of the other side (i.e. his ex wives).... do we really know the full story? When Rush talks about Maureen Dowd's personal failings, he makes his own personal failings fair game.
See how that works?
Any guy who can't make two marriages work has a problem. And the problem ain't the ex-wives.
It's him.

Whoa.
I was always told that marriage was an equal partnership.
It sinks or swims based on the partners.
Guess you don't feel that way. How antiquated.

He did not talk about Dowds personal sort comings.
He was commenting on her column about feminism. He said she was unhappy but that's about all the personal he got regarding Dowd's private life.
For you to say people who have been through a couple of marriages automatically means something is wrong with them is so ridiculous.
You have no information about what goes on in Rush's private life to make such comments about him.

Like most addicts,he deceived his wife about the drugs.
Marta took the money and ran. She took his deceit personally and left at the first bump in the road. Not much of a wife.
A weak,self-centered woman. IMO

Sink, he is actually pretty careful to tiptoe around Dowd's personal life in the article. He does comment that she is unhapy; I don't think that one is so hard to call. He makes comments about what men are like and then criticizes feminism and some of Dowd's ASSUMPTIONS her own writing exposes. He does a pretty good job keeping his discussion on her views as she chose to publicize them in her column.
All fair play, even for a man with multiple divorces.
I think you're not reading the actual article Rush wrote, but the one he might have written if he hadn't smacked his own hand a couple times. But smack he does.
