I was laughing so hard I could hardly breathe when Rush said something about Maureen was depressed because she went home for the holidays and found out her whole family disagrees with her.
As a man do I want to get married? Yes. As for men's attraction to women of subordinate status, it has nothing to do with their presumed lack of intelligence. It has everything to do with the fact powerful women look down on men and try to control them. Guys don't like it. What we want most is to be appreciated for what we do and while women don't have to say thank you all the time, a little thoughtfulness goes a long way. So back to the question. Why are guys still single? Feminism has taught women they can get along without men and progress is around the corner in the matriachal culture of the tomorrow. MoDow and the rest of the feminizt liberals took it all too seriously. Rush was right; feminism was a cruel hoax not for its ideals but for how it subverted everything that used to work in relationships. For which we are still paying the price.
"Chu Gary,Grow up.Are you Rush,I don't like you lier."
Ok, it's your turn Fatima. Tell me what you didn't like about what I said. Is Clinton an honest person, a moral person? He's a disbarred attorney.
Spinstahhhhhhhh...that's what she's going to be!
Mark,We don't want to marry you.
Perhaps its just empathy, but I agree with you.. I see them possibly being friends at some point even if not at the present time.
But, also, fame isn't kind to many folks. Rush, MoDo, Carrie Fischer. Its surprising how its so tempting to dream about fame and fortune despite all of the evidence that its a rough ride.
I have to say that I keep getting more impressed by Rush. He used to impress me as a self important windbag... but any more. Darn, he is becoming an intellectual force to be reckoned with.
Still I have a different take on why feminism is a cruel hoax. Its a hoax because it tries to convince women to aspire to the the things that excite and inspire guys. Power, Wealth, Glory. Nothing wrong with anyone wanting these things.. it takes all sorts. But achievement in Corporate America or where ever no matter how cool, is like a desert or a wasteland to some of the things that can be the most meaningful in a woman's life: children, family, community.
Always is a price to pay, a trade off. Guys can get quite a bit out of children, family and community too.. but they are not the center of this, they give support and protect these things. Women create them. At the core, it would seem that feminism was an attack on Dad. But, the real victim was Mom. Motherhood, the cornerstone of everything was devalued, kicked to the side, something that backward people loved and cherished. Not, that they said that Mom was bad or anything, but that this was not an end in itself, much less the fulfillment of a good life. Measuring achievement dollar by dollar, left doing the Mom thing seeming to be silly.
And now that I have thoroughly made an ass out of myself, I will point the finger of blame for all of this.. just where so many folks have, but not recognized what they were saying. This is all Fredrick Taylor's fault. lol!
I am sure we will survive. Modo's pain and introspection may signal the next phase of the post-feminist era.. interesting.
the pics I see must be ancient then.
Chu Gary,No.
Wonder how she feels now that she is past the point of being able to have a family and a career.

Sometimes you just know. I knew my wife for ten weeks before I proposed. It was obvious then (and now, LOL!)that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her, and I still do.

Just too sad .
bump for later-thanks
hocndoc,I say my own page on radio and we are all happy.
If she wants someone or something to talk to, she should get herself a pet or a small cactus. At least they won't talk back to her and make her even more angry.
I, for one, do not. You apparently married an "old line gentleman', a very rare breed, indeed. Treasure him, for you may not see his like again in a long, looonng, time...

From one who "has been there, done that", I concur. It was perhaps the most difficult thing I've ever had to do...

Okeedokey, I was just sharing something I love.
Something tells me that Maureen Dowd would be a lot more alluring to the opposite sex if she weren't able to speak English.
Call me crazy, but it just makes sense somehow.
Bag over her head and silent is better.
