Iran says it will allow United Nations nuclear experts to take environmental samples from a military site to disprove allegations Tehran is secretly developing nuclear weapons.
A foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi told reporters Sunday in Tehran that International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors would only take samples from so-called "green areas" at the military site, and not from inside the installation.
The head of the IAEA, Mohamed ElBaradei, said last week Iran had agreed to allow access to the site at Parchin, near the capital, and that inspectors would arrive there soon.
The IAEA has been seeking access to Parchin, which has long been used by Iran to research, develop and produce missiles and other high explosives.
The United States accuses Iran of secretly developing nuclear weapons. Iran asserts its nuclear program is only for producing electricity.
Nope
UN team visits Iranian military site
They are authorised to take samples outside (the buildings) using their equipment."
One more reason El Baradei needs to be FIRED!!
PING!
I dont quite understand. They can take tests from outside? What good is that dont they have shielding ther to prevent escape of radiation? What can they get from outside? Why go there at all just take the test from UN headquarters.
This is a FARCE to the nth degree!
It is so blatant. But the UN will not do anything because they are incapable of doing the right thing. Wait folks until you hear one fine day when Iran breaks it's contract with the IAEA. That is the signal that they are extremly close to having or do have weapon grade nuclear materials to build nuclear devices. Same thing will happen just like with Iraq in the late 1970's which lead up to Irael having to make the decision to bomb their facilities. They(Iran) want to become a nuclear power and nothing is going to stop them short of going in and destroying their facilities.
We've seen this movie. Finish the election in Iraq and yippe-eye-oh on to Tehran.
Bump...
This is exactly the way the UN wants it. Look like you are pursuing the issue, but in reality doing absolutely nothing. The UN is fronting for Iran just like they did with Iraq.
