Hackworth lost it for me when he started defending the indefensible: Scott Ritter.

The report from The Panel not only mentions him but also has a transcript of the interview w/ him on the 'documents'...an interview that was intended for the 60 Minutes broadcast but wasn't used. Hackworth comes off as being both stupid & an asshole, not that that's a surprise. Agreed. My intention was to indicate that C-BS News (Rather) has never made mention of it, that I know of. I never watch C-BS. I caught it on FoxNews a few days ago. I gave up watching network news 15 years ago. At that time, I said the news folks were telling us how to think.

Yes...I saw your other reply after I had posted mine...shoulda' read the whole thread before posting. My hair stood on end when I read the Hackworth portion of the Panel's report--was a tad overeager to express my opinion of him. Anyway, I watch very little television &, for me, reading Hack's comments in the transcript was a defining moment of
what he is--having registered a mixed opinion before.
I 'think' that some part of the Hackworth interview was broadcast later on CBS...but not in the September 8, 60 Minutes 'story' and that this is referenced in The Panel's report. Can someone confirm? Read the entire report on the morning/ afternoon it was released--overload of information to process so I may be mistaken in my recall.
