He told students, "For every two inches up there, you should get another $50,000 on your salary," You know, that might not be a bad way to teach algebra.

William Fried told eighth-graders at Jane Lathrop Stanford Middle School that stripping and exotic dancing could be lucrative career moves for girls, offering as much as $250,000 or more per year, depending on their bust size. JD Ping.

Encouraging 8th grade girls to enslave themselves to the exotic dancer industry.... I know alot (Austin/Dallas) of dancers - every one is a tale of harrassment, abuse, and addiction.
I don't know whats more outrageous - the idiot's comments or the fact that I'm no longer surprised by these kind of stories.

<sarcasm>Gee, why didn't he just go all the way and advocate porn star or prostitute? According to Hollywood, those are both respectable and lucrative career choices for young girls. The school could even bring in Paris Hilton as a "show & tell" example.</sarcasm>

Gee, he should have told them that porn movies and prostitution are lucrative, too. Shoot he should have mentioned drug-dealing while he was at it!

He told students, "For every two inches up there, you should get another $50,000 on your salary," Or, if you adopt a more traditional route, another $50,000 on your prospective husband's salary. ;)

I suppose it's better then watching your job getting outsourced, I think the chicoms dont have us on bust size yet.

Cannon also said she wouldn't want exotic dancing taken off Fried's list. Although parents might find it hard to hear, it's a legitimate career choice, she said. This 13 year old girl has probably been irreparably warped by the public school system, permissive parents, and MTV.

Fried's presentation "helped me realize that my career choice should not be influenced by money," one student wrote in a thank-you letter. "It should be influenced by what we like and are good at." I think I'd have to know more about the context here before coming to a final judgement.
Sure, maybe he shouldn't have been talking to 13-year-olds about stripping at all, but there's a big difference between encouraging them to become strippers, and using stripping as a cautionary example of why you shouldn't be fixated on money.

Fried spent about a minute answering questions, defining strippers and exotic dancers synonymously. He told students, "For every two inches up there, you should get another $50,000 on your salary," Something tells me this guy over-thinks everything.

Right after career day the students went back to class. After 5 minutes of math instruction, they practiced another hour of getting that condom on the banana.
