It would be like getting advice from Marty Schottenheimer on how to advance in the playoffs.

Shrum was just on HARDBALL, and said he's writing a book. It may be on values, or on what he's learned in politics.
For the life of me, I can't imagine why anyone would want to read about his "reflections" on either subject.
OTOH, if failure is the greatest teacher, Shrum has the most informed political mind in the Democrat party.

The New York Times reported Thursday that Shrum, who is moving to New York to be a senior fellow at New York University, was through with political consulting. Those who can, do.
Those who can't, teach.

Schrum leaving politics is a real blow for the GOP. He elected more GOP presidents than any other political operative in history, especially among Democratic political operatives.

about time......what is he?????? 0 for 8 nowWith the presidency, yes. Though it should be noted, in 1976, he worked for Jimmy Carter for around 10 days and then quit/was fired.
His record, however in the senate, has been pretty solid with over 25 senators elected, and numerious governors and congressman.
Bottom line, he couldn't cut it at the national level, he's minor leagues.

OTOH, if failure is the greatest teacher, Shrum has the most informed political mind in the Democrat party.Actually, within the Democratic party, failure elevates you to astronomical heights. After all, it is not the results that count, it is the intention.
To: Primetimedonna
Just like I was hoping the Miami Dolphins would hire Steve Spurrier before he took the South Carolina job. You can't always get what you want.
To: NorCalRepub
Honestly, we should thank him for his disservice to the Democrat party.
To: PDR
"Shrum played key roles in eight losing Democrat presidential campaigns..." Ahhhh, too bad. Just when we were starting to really like him.
To: Sonny M
there are some NFL coaches like that too....hey, if ya find something you do well.......stick to it.......
To: PDR
Good!
He can go while his losing record of failed campaigns still stands...although Lyndon LaRouche is hot on his heels....
