These dogs were probably worth alot but they will get no compensation.

Just a matter of the hunter becoming the hunted.
I wish the leftist would release/re-introduce wolves only in their neighborhoods... blue states are a great environment for wolves for example.
All of America was once wolf habitat.

If they were looking for wolves they knew there was a chance there were wolves nearby? Duh!

Yes, they were too aware that there are wolves since we have had many horses, dogs and a huge amount of our moose and elk herds killed off by them.
Our community hates that these Canadian Grey wolves were forced on us.
What is you point?
To: Delphinium
I didn't think that wolves got to 100 pounds.

Protect you dogs don't let them run too far ahead. Shoot to kill if you know what I mean.

I wonder what kind of dogs they were, that they couldn't put up a reasonable fight against the wolves, unless they were completely out-numbered perhaps.

What he means is these wolves were forced on us by the leftist eniromentalists in society, who care more for animals than they do humans.
And they worship the wolf over all other wildlife.
We kinda feel bad about our big game herds being wiped out.

Here are some wolf facts.
To: curmudgeonII
Timber wolves run 150. Malamutes (ancestors of the Arctic Wolf) run 130 at times also.

I didn't think that wolves got to 100 pounds
The species of wolves that were native to Idaho were the "rocky mountain wolf" It got to be about 70 pounds. They ran in twos
These Canadian grey wolves get to be 100-120 pounds, and they run in packs of 7 and up.
The Canadian Grey wolves that the leftists slime forced on us wiped out our native species of rocky mountain wolves.

"I didn't think that wolves got to 100 pounds." I have a German Shepherd that goes 105. I've seen wolves that were (visually) half again as big as him....

I heard that dogs and wolves have different methods of fighting. Dogs tend to go for the neck/shoulder area, and wolves tend to go for the legs (in order to immobilize). Witness the dog in this story that suffered bites to the hindquarters. The latter technique is superior.
