McGreevy, Oprah, and the Gay Agenda...(Oprah live thread)
ABC ^ | 13 Jan 05 | gobucks

Posted on 01/13/2005 1:42:08 PM PST by gobucks

It's about halfway through Oprah's T.V. show today, where she is terrorizing millions of american wives by making them wonder if their husbands are secretly gay.

This is one of sickest episodes of Oprah yet! But, the way this show started was to talk about how N.J. Gov Jim McGreevy came out, and how his wife handled it.

Then, the kicker. At about 4:25 pm, Oprah says to one hapless dude who is spilling his guts on T.V. about how he cheated on his wife this gem: - "studies show the number one reason gays marry women is Church and Family", right?

Church, Oprah? Church, ABC? So, the MSM has no agenda?

This show is an example of why our nation is utterly a mess at the hands of these godless MSM types who shove this crap into TVs across the nation, filled w/ latch key kids. Oprah and Jerry Springer and Povich are all the same...

Agree. Sometimes she's on and sometimes she's not. btw, I would guess the reasons for gays getting married ARE church and family too! duh!!

Oprah tries to be fair and when her viewers disagree, they certainly let her know if you read her message boards.

I don't watch much television anymore, so I usually miss Oprah. But, overall, I think she is a basically good person who has done a lot of good work.

No one is forced to watch that which they don't like. And there are a lot of worse things than Oprah on television.

I see you're still (not) replying to me (smirk), why is that?

She's had a hard life. She got pregnant from a rape when she was a teen, abandoned, etc. Now she is doing the right thing by being a productive person. She could have ended up as abused women end up. I don't watch television anymore except for the rare instances.

I have a close family member who is gay, I'd rather not go after Oprah on statistics. I never commented upon that part of the thread. I'm not here to argue, because I did not see the segment that is cited. You won't get much of an argument out of me on this issue. Sorry.

Of course it isn't "just" a queer disease if queers are lieing to marry women in order to "hide" behind them while they play butt ranger with hundreds of male strangers picked up in unsanitary places then come back home and pass the death sentence onto unsuspecting, faithful wifes.

I played in the same basketball league as Stedman, and at times on the same traveling team. We we in Germany at the time.

I always thought of Stedman as an honest, classy guy. He's 6-7 or 6-8, athletic, serious and a well spoken gentleman. He was a natural leader, even on our traveling team that has a lot of leader types on it.

In our league, he chose to play on the team with the worst players. He didn't want to play on our team because we were stacked already. I always remember how he was able to motivate the other guys, and get them to play their best through positive coaxing and direct, simple, but effective coaching.

To the insinuations of whether he's gay or not, I would say I doubt it. He's not ostentatious, nor does he engage in a lot of small talk, so I can't say I know him as any more than an acquaintance/teammate.

Well .. while you're defending her .. I read an interview she did where she said, "I realized I was just too selfish to have children".

I knew all those things about Oprah.

And I still don't care.

We all have adversity. Some of us get over it, some don't.

And if you're purporting that Oprah doesn't exploit being black, then you're living in a fantasy land.

She used to, not as much in my opinion. She's not as popular among black people as you think though. I still don't get the vitrol for Oprah in light of the good things she does.

But you said in an earlier post that you don't watch TV? So how would you know the crap that Oprah parades around?
Did you see any of her episodes before the election?? Perhaps the one with Cameron Diaz? that's when I started boycotting.

She is a racist and a socialist.

Oprah isn't a racist. I don't think that's fair at all. I've been watching Oprah for a long time. You just don't like her views and call her racist. She threw a big babyshow for the military wives of some big army base. How racist and socialist was that? Do I think she's wrong on certain issues? Yes and she's actually come a long way. No I didn't catch any of her pre-election shows. I work during the day which is why I don't watch her show anymore.

Well we'll have to respectfully disagree.
I watched her show for a long time, subscribed to her reading list, and her magazine, and I have concluded that she is a racist.

I would say reverse racist but that is too infuriating.

Well okay we'll have to disagree on some things, not about reverse racism though. I know what people mean, but it reminds of phrases like 'date rape' implying that it's not as bad as the usual act of rape. Her magazine is boring. My mom stopped her subscription after one issue. I read one book from her reading list, the Steinbeck book. There's always Larry Elder, who is on at 9 am.
