2 completely different things.
That's on-field player to player activity. The refs could have and probably should have flagged Favre for an offsetting unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. As for a league fine? C'mon, Farve slapped a helmet with his hand during an on-field scrum. A six year old girl could have delivered a harder blow. There is rarely ever a fine for that kind of minor in-game skirmish.
Where was the flag for Russell's repeated borderline late hits on Packer receivers? He intentionally rolled on Walker's and Driver's knees and ankles just after the whistle blew at least 3 times.
It's part of the game. The Vikings still won. The Packers still lost. So what.
But after the NBA's Malice at the Palace, player conduct toward the paying customers and potential for riot should be a major concern for all professional sports leagues.
I see. So Moss' three-second TD celebration is deserving of a fine and/or suspension.
But when a Packer player literally jumps into the stands to celebrate............?
