"Ever since I first encountered Sister Helen Prejean, I realized it is completely and utterly absurd to call yourself a religious person and support the Death Penalty"

First of all I am not religious but I am a Christian - there is a difference.

Secondly because I am a Christian I can support the death penalty because God has ordained it.

God has ordained that government should have power over evil doers.

Rom 13:4
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

The purpose of the death penalty was not man's vengeance. The purpose of the death penalty is to "put away evil" from society. - See Deut. 22

We have decided as a society not to put away evil, therefore evil continues and even grows.

We dishonor God when we allow the innocent to die by abortion yet keep alive murderers.

Ezekiel 13:19
And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies?

It's all just gibberish to PinkoCommie.

I'm sure he blushes with immense pride when I call him PinkoCommie.
