If the boy had a normal gender identity going into ballet, it makes sense that he'd survive unscathed. Normal kid forced into ballet might just make for a kid who tolerates ballet for mom's sake. The Dorothy boy identified with Dorothy and wanted to "be" Dorothy. I know. But my point is that there are parents out there, especially women (ducking), who want their boys to act like girls. Further anecdotal evidence: my sister-in-law gave her boys dolls to play with when they were very small. It seems commonsensical that this could screw up a boy, especially if there's no father in the picture.
I'm A Boy
(Pete Townshend) One girl was called Jean Marie
Another little girl was called Felicity
Another little girl was Sally Joy
The other was me, and I'm a boy
My name is Bill and I'm a headcase
They practice making up on my face
Yeah, I feel lucky if I get trousers to wear
Spend ages taking hairpins from my hair
I'm a boy, I'm a boy
But my ma won't admit it
I'm a boy, I'm a boy
But if I say I am I get it
Put your frock on Jean Marie
Plait your hair Felicity
Paint your nails, little Sally Joy
Put this wig on, little boy
I wanna play cricket on the green
Ride my bike across the stream
Cut myself and see my blood
I wanna come home all covered in mud
I'm a boy, I'm a boy
But my ma won't admit it
I'm a boy, I'm a boy, I'm a boy
I'm a boy, I'm a boy, I'm a boy, I'm a boy
I'm a boy, I'm a boy, I'm__ a__ boy__
Last time I heard from Pete he was doing the homo thing.

Good argument, but still has holes--like the guy who pointed out that you can spot "them" at a young age.
Environmental factors effect kids at a very young age, so does, unfortunately, sexual abuse.

What difference does it make if it is a choice or not. People choose to ACT on their desires; does anyone choose to be attracted to children? This same argument could be used to defend pedophiles. The difference is that homosexuality is politically correct, socially excepted deviance, nothing more.
You got it! One can choose to commit adultery, they don't choose to be attracted to someone outside marriage. Whether they act on the attraction, temptation, is a choice.

This is from a Christian veiw,
We are born with it, its called sin. God created a male and female to fill the earth. However because of sin God's perfect plan is tainted. I do think you can be changed to a hetrosexual through the blood of Christ.
True, however when it is claimed that God created homosexuals, that is false. He did give man free will, how he channels that is up to him.

While it is true, that they are free to do what they want in private, who cares, forcing it into the public and the schools, is WRONG! It's offensive, its child abuse, and it is distroying our society.

I think it is due to one of multiple factors or a combination of factors.
Studies have indicated that homosexual brains do not function the ssame way as heterosexual brains, which indicates some genetic influence. On the other hand, in entire societies this abberrant behavior was considered normal and acceptable, which would indicate their is a social or environmental component to this disorder.
So trying to make a broad statement that Homosexuality is due to this or that single factor is obscuring a complex situation.
The only thing we can be sure of, is that it is an abberrant behavior pattern.

What kind of "free" "republican" wants to control other people's boners? Why not just leave them in peace- AS LONG AS THEY DONT ABUSE THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS.
The argument is only ongoing because abusing the rights of others is exactly what is happening in society today. If that stopped, they would actually get a whole lot more tolerance. The fact is, all this tolerance crap, is taking what tolerance they had, away. People generally have no problem with gays having rights, etc etc etc, would even advocate for that, UNTIL they start teaching it in schools, and insisting on hate crime legislation, and same sex marriage.

"homophobic" is a made up term that has no valid meaning other than to shame those who do not accept homosexuality. People who reject homosexuality are not afraid of queers although they often are disugsted by them. For the purposes you used the term, "homophobe" is nothing more than hate speech.My...the irony!
First of all, your use of the word "queers" is the epitome of hate speech in your context.
Homophobic is a valid term.
And I'm not interested in engaging anyone in a debate, since IMO claiming that homosexuality is nothing more than a choice is profound ignorance and arrogance...not necessarily in that order.
Cheers!

It's much more embarrassing to see any uninformed, alleged Freepers in here supporting homosexuals in the deathstyle that will ultimately consume their lives and their souls. Homophobia is a lie, by the by. We aren't afraid of them, only disgusted by their perversions.

Or perhaps the aggressors were themselves victimized as children, and their repressed feelings lead them to aberrant behavior, both criminally and sexually.
One or both is pretty accurate. Once exposed, the shame factor were the victims history discovered later in life by a person of the opposite sex, is a real fear. Rather than have it discovered they choose to stay in the "dysfunctional group" where the same would be less. Feeling of being spoiled, soiled if you will, have been documented. A no turning back type of mindset. People who HAVE abandoned the lifestyle later in life openly admit to that.
A lot of adolescent girls get started in the lifestyle because boys see it as a turn on.

well, don't boys see getting some action for themselves as an even BIGGER turn on?

Your posts are so informative and right on target always! Thank you for all of them.
I also agree with our need to be careful in giving them victim status, and the need to reinforce the choice of behavior, and all the repercussions, which make it unacceptable. With the push to eradicate smoking, this issue should take front and center as a health threat to society.

"Nobody can know what really happens in the private lives of other people."
You left out the part that when these private lives involve adults, we not only can't know, but also shouldn't care.

...we not only can't know, but also shouldn't care. But that's not how it works in the real world, is it? Homo activists shove this stuff down our throats upon threat of being labelled "homophobic." Schools teach that it's OK and that to think otherwise is intolerant. Television and movies normalize obvious deviance with a wink and a nudge. If there was not an obvious concerted effort to make their private lives our public hell, this thread wouldn't exist.
To: DCPatriot
Not homophobic at all. I have a few homosexual acquaintances, none of which are activists. They choose to live their lives, and go about them, without insinuating themselves or their lifestyles on other people. They do not approve of the activism that is going on, or the teaching in schools. It's only activists we are against.

Children come into contact with a lot more people than their parents, no one ever said that parents abuse their kids. In fact it is usually a babysitter, an uncle, a neighbor, not the parents.
