As I understand it , it is for safety's sake..A poster with a cross pictured is not prohibited..They ban wooden "crosses" with posters attached.

Thanks..it's a security measure..haven't they banned large wooden sticks to hold up posters for a long time..

Yeah, I heard on the tube a while ago that styrofoam ones are OK.
