Back when I was in college, a Jewish friend of mine and I made up some politically incorrect costumes for Halloween. I dressed up as a Nazi with full length leather trench, combat boots, and brown shirt, and red armband. He dressed up as a poor ghetto Jew with some shabby clothing, yellow star, little fisherman's cap and battered suitcase. We had a grand old time chasing each other around the dormatory.
There'd be no point to this anecdote except that the next day in the cafeteria, I received a standing ovation from the table where all the middle-eastern students sat. Somehow I think they missed the point.
