Communists discover Spam

Capitalist-loathing Communists are in the Spam business.

RedNews.org, "an experimental website bringing complete daily news about communist and socialist movements, insurgencies, parties and governments from around the world," is recruiting new members from the Internet.

"Using news aggregation technology, RedNews.org can "automatically provide" relevant, thorough breaking news and information every hour of every day." Wall Street couldn’t have written better words.

Prominently displayed on the front page of RedNews.org is the Hammer and Sickle. Posters to print and distribute include photos of Lenin. Messages such as "Smash Capitalism!" "No State"! "No Empire!" are splashed over photographs depicting urban scenes.

RedNews.org does not advertise the individual names of comrades nor feature an About Us section. RedNews.org is "operated with a server and technology donation from linefeed.org."

Now that it’s up and running, the "non-commercial experimental project" is fomenting for revolution: "The movement urges all members of Social Nerve, all followers of the Book of Resistance, members of Social Angst! and brothers and sisters who stand in solidarity with the ideals of Social Nerve and revolution to come out in force on January 20, 2005–we will stand united against the Imperialist regime of the United States as they once again hand power over to their leader. The streets of Washington will shake with the sound of our feet, and the walls will crumble from the sound of our voices–we must show that we exist! We must express our rage while we still can! The movement urges all to spread the word."

The lead story posted on RedNews.org last Saturday was The Roots of Islamic Terrorism: How Communists helped Fundamentalists, from Global Politician magazine. . . . .

Dear Comrade,

You don't know me, but my name is John Smith. I am a former capitalist in the United States that inherited $7.2 million dollars.

I am looking for partner in your country so that I can transfer my capitalist wealth to your socialist government. You of course would be compensated for your part in facilitating this transaction.

If you are willing to help out a reformed capitalist, please respond to this email with your ration card number, and we can conclude business by the end of the week.

Thank you for your time.

Future fellow communist,

John Smith

"Prominently displayed on the front page of RedNews.org is the Hammer and Sickle."

I wonder if the Minneapolis Star & Sickle knows about this
copyright infringement.
