Like it or not, this is a major policy step for the French to not only acknowledge that there is something wrong, but that they are able to do something to help correct the situation.

I think they were counting on a Kerry victory and now they have to rethink their whole strategy in dealing with Bush.

This is not an obfuscation designed to tell us what we want to hear while they continue full throttle with their permanent anti-America agenda?
Come on. It's the same thing the old USSR did every day.
When they stop trying to "arm China, because we must provide a counterweight to American power and unilateralism," then, and only then, will I consider that a "first step."
This French statement is hogwash.
